Bachelors' Meal Manager — by Red Z Apps
Effective date: 16 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Bachelors' Meal Manager mobile app ("the app", "we", "us"), published by Red Z Apps, collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the app you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
| Data | Why we collect it |
|---|---|
| Account info — email address, username (name) and a user ID | To create and manage your account, sign you in, and show your name to other members of your house. |
| Content you create — house names, meals, bazar (grocery) items and amounts, manager-money entries, special meals and related notes | This is the core function of the app — recording and splitting your shared meal costs. It is stored so your housemates see the same, up-to-date figures. |
| App activity & performance — in-app interactions, crash logs and diagnostics | To keep the app running, monitor stability, diagnose crashes and improve performance. |
| Device / advertising identifiers | Used by our advertising and analytics providers (see below) to show ads and understand app usage. |
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, messages, or health data.
How we use your information
- Provide and operate the app's features (accounts, meal/expense tracking, reports).
- Manage your account and authenticate you (email/password or Google sign-in).
- Analyse usage and app performance, and diagnose and fix crashes.
- Show ads that help keep the app free.
Third-party services
The app uses trusted third-party services that may process data on our behalf or for their own purposes as described in their policies:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Realtime Database, Analytics, Crashlytics) — stores your account and app data and provides analytics and crash reporting. Firebase privacy.
- Google Sign-In — optional login using your Google account (we receive your name, email and Google account ID).
- Google AdMob — serves ads and may use your device / advertising identifier for ad delivery and measurement. How Google uses data.
Advertising
We show ads through Google AdMob. To deliver and measure ads, your device's advertising identifier may be collected and shared with Google and its advertising partners. You can reset or limit your advertising ID at any time in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads).
How your data is shared
We do not sell your personal data. Your account and app data are processed by Google (Firebase) as our service provider to run the app. Your advertising identifier is shared with advertising partners for the purpose of showing ads. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Data security
All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Access to house data is restricted to signed-in members of that house.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and its data, or request deletion of specific data, at any time — see our Account & Data Deletion page. Residual copies in encrypted backups are overwritten within 90 days.
Children's privacy
The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13; if you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
